Study: The Flemish farmhouse

A residential concept focused on community and individual freedom, with multiple homes on a single plot. This design focuses on creating a balance between communal spaces and personal living areas. The challenge is to find the right balance between tranquillity and togetherness. This requires a design that respects both shared and private spaces, while stimulating a sense of community. Alinel acts as a kind of restorative plaster between old and new.

Type F was chosen, inspired by the detailing of the slats as a counterpart to the sturdy recesses of the terraces. For the colour, the architect chose RAL 7002, commonly known as ‘dark olive grey’. The existing façade was high-pressure cleaned and repainted with light grout, a light RAL colour that illuminates the covered areas and even reflects light at certain times of the day.
